Without a model the assistant still runs commands offline (add, edit, delete, move slides, themes, notes, outlines). Connect a model for full deck writing. Your key stays in this browser and is sent only to the provider you pick. “Free models” need no account but send your slide text to that free service; “Local model” keeps everything on your computer. For a full hands-off build use the 🤖 Agent button.

Keep working if a model fails If the model is down, rate-limited or returns something unusable, the assistant switches to the next one automatically so your work is not interrupted. The chip above the chat shows ↪ when a backup answered.
When the main model fails Switch to my other connected models (recommended) Also use free models as a last resort (sends slide text to free services) Never switch
Backup model names, in order (optional)
Retry paused models now Live status of every model used so far
Anthropic key with no names: falls back to a faster model by itself, then the built-in Claude if available. A local model never switches to the cloud unless you choose free models.
Custom instructions 0/800 Anything else the model should always follow.

Good to know Your work autosaves in this browser. Use “Save project” to keep a file you can reopen later; it includes your Design Studio settings. Add a picture behind any slide with “Background image”.
